To whom it may concern,

Please accept my resume as an application for the position of the Youth Leaders in Training Coordinator. You will see that I bring enthusiasm, determination and a passion for learning and teaching to any situation that I am faced with. I believe the most effective way to communicate is with patience and an open mind. Patience helps me when trying to overcome the challenges in a situation and allows for time to prepare effective strategies to do so. Having an open mind helps when understanding an individual’s emotions and attitudes towards a certain situation.

As a mature, hard-working and organized university student, I always work with great motivation and a positive attitude. During my first three years at the University of Victoria, I have participated in the UVIC Triathlon and Surf Clubs earning the title of vice president of both clubs. Having had little experience leading a group of peers, I learned steps to plan group activities, balance the needs of others and ensure I understand cost and financial aspects of organizing a club. As part of the Recreation and Health Education program and working as an activity instructor for all ages and abilities, I have learned valuable skills, which include working effectively with others, working under pressure, and caring for and showing respect to both the groups and fellow colleagues I work with.

I am confident that my knowledge and abilities would be of value to your organization. I would like to request a few minutes of your time, at your convenience, to discuss my qualifications. If you have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to call me.

Sincerely,
